HZA’s initial work with courts focused on child welfare issues and involved evaluation of the federally funded court improvement projects. More recently, much of the emphasis has been on special purpose or problem solving courts. HZA has evaluated adult drug courts, adult mental health courts, adult family and co-occurring courts, as well as juvenile mental health courts. Because of the overlaps in topics, some of the work involving courts can be found under the headings “Mental Health,” “Substance Abuse” and “Juvenile & Adult Corrections.”
